CityArtist program supports the research, development, and presentation of work by generative Seattle-based individual artists/curators. Awarded artists will need to offer a public presentation in city limits of Seattle.

This funding program focuses on different art forms/disciplines in alternating years. We encourage a broad range of artistic and cultural expression that reflects Seattle’s diversity.

THIS year the CityArtist cycle is open to these art forms/disciplines. Funded artists will realize work in 2022-23: 

  • Literary (including Screenwriting)
  • Media/Film
  • Visual

Applications from artists creating or curating work in literary (except playwriting), media/film, and visual arts will be accepted. Traditional/ethnic and multi-disciplinary projects are welcome but must include primary art form or discipline listed for each cycle.

Funding level

Applicants may request the following set amounts: $2,000, $5,000, or $8,000. Select an amount that considers a future idea and scope.
