Call for artists for Artists of Color Expo & Symposium (ACES) a two-day, BIPOC-led program with performances, exhibits, presentations, workshops, and open forums. Application is due by February 21, 2021.

Artists of Color Expo & Symposium (ACES) is a two-day, BIPOC-led program with performances, exhibits, presentations, workshops, and open forums. Our vision is to establish a space for us to celebrate and center ourselves, especially in communities of color where crisis breeds innovation. We are coming together with intentionality to value our work and to see each other as resources, while focusing on the challenges and solutions we face as artists of color in the Pacific Northwest.

Event Date: Saturday May 15 – Sunday May 16, 2021

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, ACES will be presented entirely online. Visual arts will still be displayed in a gallery, and attendees will be able to view the art by a virtual tour.

PROPOSALS & COMPENSATION

There are three categories that applicants can choose from:

 

Visual Art (painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media…)

Visual artists can expect a flat fee of $100 per work accepted.

No more than 3 accepted works.

 

Performance (music, movement, poetry, acting, film/video…)

Performing artists can expect a flat fee of $100 per person per performance.

Limit 10-30 minute performances.

 

Presentation/Workshop/Open Forum/Listening Session

Artists can expect to receive a flat fee of $100 per person.

Limit 30 minute programs.
