National Queer and Trans Therapists Of Color Network

Vision:

We envision a world where all people have access to healing resources rooted in social justice and liberation to recover from trauma, violence, and systemic oppression. We specifically acknowledge the harm and violence perpetuated by the medical-industrial complex and actively work to both intervene directly on this system as well as create new systems of care for our communities.

National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network (NQTTCN) is a healing justice organization committed to transforming mental health for queer and trans people of color (QTPoC). This organization has great resources along with a Mental Health Fund that will eventually Reopen.

HEALING JUSTICE LEARNING & STRATEGY LAB

Now accepting applications! Deadline November 10th!

 OVERVIEW/RESUMEN

Due to COVID-19 and the escalating crises this year, we have decided to reimagine our 2020 healing justice convening. NQTTCN will host a virtual Healing Justice Learning & Strategy Lab (aka HJ Lab) that will focus on using healing justice as a strategy to navigate the concurrent and intersecting crises we are and will continue to navigate. In this moment, we must mobilize QTBIPoC (queer and trans Black, Indigenous and People of Color) healers, movement leaders, artists, cultural workers, and health, mental health, and healing practitioners from across the U.S. to ensure that the physical, emotional, psychic, and spiritual needs of QTBIPOC are prioritized.

The HJ lab seeks to explore the history and lineage of healing justice in order to harvest lessons we can apply to the present. We will build upon growing conversations around abolition, as well as transformative, disability, reproductive and environmental justice to address the continued criminalization and violence experienced by QTBIPoC by the state and across systems of care.

The HJ lab will be an intentional space for health and healing practitioners and providers across disciplines and modalities along with organizers and movement leaders committed to our collective survival and liberation. As we approach the election, QTBIPoC are developing tools and strategies to meet this moment that we must understand and build upon.
